Born in Cornwall, England in 1972, I first came to Brazil in 1989 during a gap year before university. On my return (from Aracaju-SE), I studied English at Lancaster University (UK) and Psychology at the University of California (USA). In 1995, after working for a multi-national corporation for a few years, I moved back to Brazil and set-up a language school and translation business in Fortaleza-CE.
Between 1999 and 2007 I worked for International ELT Publishers Oxford University Press and Richmond-Santillana, in addition to undertaking both an M.A. in Applied Linguistics (UECE) and an MBA in Business Management (FIC).
In 2007 I moved to Brasilia to take-up the role of Director English Language for the British Council in Brazil and have also been responsible for several other projects including the inspirational Global Changemakers Project for young social entrepreneurs.
